Job Description

The Marketplace Experience team sits within Affirm’s Direct-to-Consumer organization and owns the core discovery and evaluation surfaces that help shoppers find the right merchant and financing option for their needs.

Responsibilities

  • - Setting technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale
  • - Collaborating across teams in the product development lifecycle
  • - Acting as a force-multiplier for your team through definition and advocacy of technical solutions
  • - Taking ownership of your team’s operations and availability
  • - Fostering a culture of quality and ownership on your team
  • - Helping develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance
  • - Participating in on-call rotation

Required Skills

  • - 8+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • - Proficient in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale
  • - Proficient in developing web apps using declarative UI frameworks
  • - Experience delivering major features and system components
  • - Ability to write high quality code
  • - Thriving in ambiguity and understanding large systems
  • - Strong verbal and written communication skills
