Manufacturing Software Technical Program Manager

Overview

We are seeking a manufacturing software technical program manager to help us organize, track, and prioritize our manufacturing software efforts.

Job Description

This is an intensely collaborative position, and while it’s very remote-friendly, candidates must be able to work in real-time with colleagues in a manufacturing facility in the US Central timezone.

Responsibilities

  • - Collaborate with other functions across operations, hardware engineering and software engineering to understand the dependencies between work streams and implement best practices around program management for our manufacturing software
  • - Work with internal stakeholders on manufacturing software development priorities, schedule, and tradeoffs
  • - Organize and communicate manufacturing software release processes such as scheduling, planning, and testing cycles
  • - Nimbly manage projects large and small as we scale our manufacturing software team and drive enhancements necessary to assure that we make a highest quality product
  • - Communicate regularly with operations teams to ensure transparency in plans and progress towards manufacturing priorities, adjusting plans thoughtfully as priorities change
  • - Contribute to process documentation and help maintain the accuracy of data in our program management tools, making recommendations as needed to improve our ways of working
  • - Contribute to areas of the product that interest you beyond your day-to-day program management duties

Required Skills

  • - Enjoy watching How It’s Made
  • - Have previously worked with complex software deliverables involving multiple teams
  • - Have worked with physical infrastructure in some operational capacity, be it as a team deploying on and/or operating hardware or in a manufacturing context
  • - Are a people person who can drive clear communication across engineering, operations, and manufacturing
  • - Are energized by the thought of operating between traditional roles and silos
  • - Enjoy organizing and aren’t intimidated by ambiguity
  • - Value the written word, can concisely communicate in written form
  • - Get excited about a wide range of technical topics and dig really deeply into them
