Photoroom is looking for a Head of Cross-Platform (Rust) to lead their world-class Rust cross-platform team, driving long-term technical vision and strategic initiatives.
Job Description
Photoroom launched in 2020 after being accepted into Y Combinator and has become the world's most popular AI photo editor over the past four years. With over 300 million downloads and processing 5+ billion images annually, Photoroom serves both individual creators and major enterprises through B2C app and B2B API solutions. The company is profitable, remote-friendly, and has raised Series B funding.
Responsibilities
- - Own long-term strategy and execution of the internal Rust-based engine
- - Cross-functional partnership with iOS, Android, Web apps, and API teams
- - Team leadership, scaling the team while maintaining culture and excellence
- - Ensure technical excellence through code review, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting
Required Skills
- - Proven experience leading deeply technical teams within product companies
- - Technical depth for mentorship, spotting code issues, debugging failures
- - Cross-platform experience in building tools and libraries in Rust or C/C++
- - Ability to simplify deeply technical topics into understandable terms
- - Empowering leadership style with technical credibility
