Job Description

Responsibilities

• - Manage the accounting cycle for assigned technical accounting areas including but not limited to investments, debt, leases, equity, inter-company, revenue recognition, etc.
• - Research and apply GAAP and local accounting guidance to complex, non-routine transactions; draft accounting policies, and prepare technical memos for auditors
• - Prepare, review and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the annual external financial statements ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• - Collaborate with local finance teams to record transactions and implement efficient financial processes and internal controls
• - Perform complex account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or variances in a timely manner
• - Support the audit and tax filing processes by providing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors and the tax team to address any inquiries or findings
• - Stay updated on industry trends, accounting principles, and regulatory changes, implementing best practices to optimize financial processes

Required Skills

• - 5 years experience in accounting, and a plus if in the Financial Services industry operating in a multi-currency environment
• - Have demonstrable experience in leading an audit
• - Strong grasp of the financial close process
• - CPA or similar designation or in the process of obtaining such designation
• - Enthusiastic about learning new reporting tools, solving unique problems, and optimizing processes
• - Can navigate ambiguity and find creative ways to solve problems
• - Goal-oriented leader, capable of working on a fast-moving small team as both an individual contributor and manager
• - Passionate about Wave's mission and eager to do what needs to be done to achieve it
